Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Produce Order Writer
to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our
produce department, you will be responsible for purchasing and
replenishing produce, monitoring inventory control, and
participating in regional programs for purchasing and
promotions.Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing and Replenishment: Purchase and replenish produce
through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate
orders to monitor inventory turns.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and act upon open PO reports for
both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner,
controlling spoilage and shrink, and achieving turn goals.
- Merchandising and Display: Maximize sales potential through
effective and proper procedures for stocking and merchandising
products, ensuring orders for product are timely and accurate.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service,
addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and
modeling suggestive selling techniques.
- Inventory Management: Analyze and control product transfers,
waste, and spoilage, supporting leadership in conducting
inventories.
- Financial Management: Maintain financial profitability by
meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets.Requirements
- Education and Experience: 12+ months retail experience.
- Skills and Abilities: Extensive produce product knowledge,
familiarity with products, nutritional information, and other areas
of study, strong basic math skills, knowledge and ability to use
computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and
ordering systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk
6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, hand use: single grasping, fine
manipulation, pushing and pulling, work requires the following
motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.BenefitsWhole

Hourly, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits
